======= WunderLust ====== {{:vignette:wunderlust.jpg?nolink&400|}} ===== Content Warnings ===== * **Discrimination on the basis of fantasy race**. * Fantasy races will be described as non-sentient monsters, irrespective of the truth. ===== Plot ===== This is the tale of an unlikely pair of adventurers, as they travel through the Kingdom of WunderLust to kill a terrifying monster. Godmaer of Ballydean the Burly has been causing trouble for King Richward of WunderLust. The king requires Godmaer to be distracted in order that he doesn't disrupt the mandatory //"We Love Kind Richward Week"// of celebrations upcoming in a month. It is decided at a council meeting that Godmaer is to be sent to deal with the monster at the kingdom's border. At the same meeting, the Chief Collector of the Coin Harley Tucker irritates the King by admitting a taxation mistake. Therefore Harley is sent with Godmaer to ensure the hero doesn't return too soon. The protagonists have a long and perilous journey, during which their mutual respect grows. They find the mythical Stone of Knowing, which proves to be both an asset and a liability. The story thus far ends with them captured by the ogre - the final scene, their escape, is yet unwritten. ===== Landscape ===== The story is set in the kingdom of WunderLust. It beings in the city Avonaire, where the Palace of Kind Richward lies. Wunderlust is a low fantasy, almost fairy tale setting. Magic is not a key focal point of the setting (although small magical themes are present), but fantasy creatures very much do exist away from population centres. ===== Key Impressions ===== List the key Impressions. * **King Leonardo Richward**: **Not Playable**. The overweight Kind of WunderLust. Loves nothing more than a banquet, other than perhaps //"We Love Kind Richward Week"// of celebrations. * **Godmaer of Ballydean the Burly**: **Playable**. An hero who has been helping out the common people, and rallying them up against the establishment. Is very egotistical, and will never say no to danger! * **Harley Tucker**: **Playable**. Chief Collector of the Coin in WanderLust, and responsible for collecting taxes. Having never been in a fight before, he is hardly up to the task the King has sent him on. * **Giant Spider**: **Playable**. A giant spider who, in scene 3, captures Godmaer and Harley. Is terrified of Giant Crows. * **Ogre**: **Playable**. A hideous ogre living at the border of the kingdom, who has been terrorising local villages, and eating their inhabitants. * **Stone of Knowing**: **Playable**. A lump of rock, which is magically enchanted so that it must provide the truthful answer to any question posed to it. ===== Scenes ===== * **1**: At a Royal Council meeting, it is decided that the irritating "hero" Godmaer of Ballydean the Burly must be distracted for a month by sending him on a quest to deal with a monster terrorising the borders of the kingdom. Harley Tucker, having earned the King's ire is sent to ensure Godmaer is kept busy. * **2**: On the road, our two adventurers decide to attack a bandit camp. Godmaer launches into the fight, while Harley hides behind a rock. Harley is cornered by some bandits and is about to fight, but at the last minute is saved by Godmaer. Their loot is mutual respect for each other, and also the Stone of Knowing which they find in the camp. * **3**: While crossing the Dark Enchanted Forest, our heroes are captured in the web of a giant spider. Godmaer tries and fails to break the web by flexing, but Harley asks the Stone of Knowing what giant spiders are afraid of. The answer is giant crows, so Harley gets the stone to mimic the crows' skwark which frightens the spider away allowing themselves time to get free. * **4**: They find the lair of the ogre, and lay an ambush. However the ogre taunts with rhetorical questions which are answered by the Stone of Knowing, giving away their ambush. After a fight, Harley and Godmaer are captured, tied up, and put in a cauldron to be cooked. * **5**: This is the final scene to be written, but the plot has yet to be decided. Somehow, our protagonists must escape and return back safely.
