Just The Facts - Edition 117.2

Lost Muses! Rescuers Wanted!

A worrying report leaked by an anonymous source from the Nightmare Fuel Weather Station appears to indicate that the previously missing Muses – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple – may in fact be lost in a recently-discovered Vignette in nearby Far Dream that has been dubbed Deep Lake Woods. Though few details have yet been released, and the full details of the report have not been made available to this publication, a number of facts have become apparent concerning the six siblings.

The Vignette is likely in one of two possible failure states, state Fisheye et al.. Either the Vignette lacks the power to properly eject the Muses at the end of its ordinary sequence or, more worryingly, the Muses are stuck in a Vignette that is either endless, or requires some particular condition to be met. It is unknown at present what this might be, though given the Vignette appears to be of the

horror genre – with a number of murders occurring in succession, according to Fisheye’s reports.

Much of this information appears to be sourced from a new invention by the aforementioned Fisheye of a portable viewing device in the same vein as Vig-Net, which allows Muses of the NFWS to take a peek inside a given Vignette in the Dreamscape while it is ongoing. The intended use of this device is not yet known.

The Academy intends at this stage to launch a rescue mission, though a number of brave Muses are required in order to investigate this presently little-understood Vignette in order to get a picture of what action is required in order to proceed. Whether this involves using Juicetronic devices to force them into the Vignette or other means, the brave Muses inside shall be rescued.

Their Magnum Opus

A large oak doorframe has appeared in the centre of Hub. We believe this is connected to Jo’s first actual progress on their Magnum Opus, and will eventually form the entranceway to it when it manifests as a Vignette. For now, though, it is simply a frame, impressive but inert. We would like to congratulate all the Muses of Spindle who have contributed to Vignettes these last two weeks – this is surely a direct result of your efforts to spur on Jo’s creativity. Keep up the good work!

Academic Justice Statement

The Academy of Thought is pleased to announce that as part of it's investigation into the break-ins in the Exhibition hall three weeks ago, it has convicted seven muses of membership of the Free Idea Forum. Muses may now rest happy now these muses have been successfully censored, and their threat to Spindle has been neutralised.

On a similar note, there was another incident at the Exhibition Hall last week. Patricia d’Arte’s personal study was broken into and a huge number of lemon sherbet sweets were scattered all over it. Porphyrius Noise was seen fleeing the scene. While some of you may see this as just a “harmless prank”, it is nonetheless a disturbance to the public order and we at the Academy will treat any such misdeed very seriously.

Letter to the Editor

Muses of Spindle,

I am very happy indeed with the work you have all put in over the last two weeks. This has been the largest amount of Vignette activity we have seen in months, and it is clear that Jo is benefitting as a result.

I would also like to proudly announce the result of the competition announced at the last Brainstorm: the winner of the collaboration theme is… Journey, as submitted by Lorem Ipsum.

Congratulations to all those Muses who contributed – your work is now on proud display at the Exhibition Hall, and is sure to catch Jo’s attention.

As we move on to the next round, the theme is order. Also, in addition to a place in the Exhibition Hall, any Muse who meaningfully contributes to the winning Vignette will receive an extra Rank I Trope Card from us. As always, I look forward to seeing your creations!

Patricia d’Arte, on behalf of Pure Inspiration

Public Safety Announcement

It has been reported that the muse known as Kendrick is extremely dangerous. All muses are recommended to stay away from Kendrick and not interact with him. Any knowledge of his whereabouts should be immediately reported to the Academy of Thought.

Exhibition Corner

Snapshots of the following Vignettes are currently on display at the Exhibition Hall:

  • Decadent Dreams, in which Princess Manta and Prince Flowerhorn pursue their dreams – though their choices are not without consequences.
  • Journey, in which the Youth’s tribesfolk aid her in overcoming the challenges of the twin mountains.

[OC Note: if you participated in either of these Vignettes, you can take the roleplaying effect of feeling more energetic than usual as you get an extra surge of Creative Juice.]

NFWS Dream Forecast

Juice Production seems to be on the rise, with rates doubling in the positive from a fortnight ago. While NFWS core works to keep up with this sudden influx, there seems to have been a short circuit, cutting power to most of Spindle for a short amount of time.

The NFWS would like to apologise for this blip and as the grid will be stabilised shortly.

Unusual weather patterns have been observed in Far Dream. There seems to have been a large concentration of Creative Juices

that have been dissipating into the ground below - resembling that of a previously unidentified Juice Geyser. The effects of this large dissipation is yet unknown, but Spark Core will be working on analysing its effects as soon as possible.

Expect heavy rain throughout the week with high humidity from the density of Creative Juices in the air. There are also light winds blowing in from Far Dream as remnants of Far Dream Juice Geysers dissipate.
